Guided Horseback Riding Near Asheville
Take a guided horse back ride near Asheville, North Carolina. If you have never ridden before, or have limited experience, we will show you the basics. For your safety we use a specifically designed platform so you can easily mount your horse and we give basic tips and instructions on riding before hitting the trail.
For the experienced riding enthusiast, you will enjoy our 2+ hour guided rides through a variety of terrain ranging from mountain forests and streams to the higher elevations.
We offer the following from mid-April through November:
- 1-4 hour rides through beautiful mountain forests along Bald Mountain Creek
- 7 hour ride to access point of Big Bald Mountain for panoramic views of Pisgah and Cherokee National Forests at over 5500’ elevation (short distance hike to the top of Bald Mountain)
- Picnic lunch optional (if interested, please call for availability, pricing; must prepay 3 days in advance of scheduled ride)

Wagon Rides
Wolf Laurel Stables now offers a new way to experience this beautiful area with one-hour wagon rides in a handmade wagon pulled by an impressive team of haflingers! This ride includes a short break to enjoy the views at Weaver Knob. This beautiful wagon will carry up to six adult passengers and is perfect for families or small groups. One option offered is a picnic at the Weaver Knob picnic pavilion. If interested, please call for availability and pricing; must prepay three days in advance of scheduled wagon ride.
